Bruce Smith is an independent Manufacturing Maintenance consultant with extensive industrial experience. Prior to establishing his consulting practice he worked for over 3 decades in manufacturing and for the past 22 years he has managed Maintenance, Facilities and Engineering departments.
Bruce has a broad background and experience in a variety of manufacturing sectors including fisheries, bakery, dairy, tea & coffee and confectionary. Bruce also has headed projects employing such technologies as single and twin screw extrusion, continuous microwave cooking, thermal processing, pasteurization, microfiltration, dry blending, and high speed automated packaging. He has demonstrated competence with managing budgets, capital projects, and all aspects of plant / facility maintenance. He has also performed detailed process audits for various companies including Bowes Company, Mother Parkers Tea and Coffee and Arla Foods.
Over the years Bruce has developed maintenance departments from the ground up. He is recognized as a team builder and a firm believer in developing and empowering people to be the best they can be. He has established and audited Asset Management programs (written and computerized) and successfully implemented CMMS programs (SAP & MP2) at different companies and coached and mentored staff along the way.
Most recently, Bruce has been providing operational consulting services for a variety of clients across North America.
